The Birdhouse is a really great neighborhood spot serving up classic American food! I had been meaning to check it out for a while and it did not disappoint. Their food and drinks are tasty, but I was particularly impressed by their outstanding service and the cool, retro atmosphere. When my partner and I initially arrived there was only one server for the whole of the restaurant (and it was pretty busy), but she was super nice and did an amazing job taking care of all the tables. Another staff member arrived later during our visit and she was also wonderful—plus the two of them together had great teamwork—so I feel confident in saying the staff here are great. Additionally, contributing to the experience as a whole, I really loved the overall ambience. The retro decor was really attractive and gave the space a comfortable and homey vibe. Beyond this, their food was very solid—I like the creative twists on some classics, like the French onion grilled cheese I tried. The pot roast on this was really good and the cheese was the perfect melty texture. Plus, the portions were very generous and a great value for your money. Additionally, they had an extensive drink menu with fun seasonal cocktails, which I always love to see. I tried one of their winter warmers and it was very nice. I also noticed they have a happy hour on Sun-Thurs with some excellent deals so I’m looking forward to visiting again soon to check out this menu. Overall, I think The Birdhouse is a great spot and I recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Had excellent food and the service was outstanding. Callie is a Rockstar! She kept cold drinks going and her personality is rare to find in the service industry. Watching her keep the business running was impressive. We will be back often!

If the dishes at this place were songs, and they had a greatest hits, right at the top ya better believe you’d find the grits Alright alright, I’ll only joke for a bit. Sometimes the food just fits and it takes little wit... Fine, I’ll quit Behold, The Birdhouse Fried Brussels Sprouts with Gruyere Cheese Pot Roast with Fried Mushrooms, Radishes, and Horseradish Cream BBQ Shrimp and Grits with Caramelized Onions, Andouille Sausage, and Citrus BBQ sauce That last one was mine. And I won’t forget it bringing the heat big time were cheddar jalapeno grits, Andouille, and peppers, but it wasn’t overpowering by any means. Crazy creamy grits, I mean this dish had me savoring its richness for a good long while. And the sweet citrus sauce, caramelized onions, all mixed in with shrimp... oh ya, You Betcha is all I have to say! 11/10 I tried a bite of my fellow foodie’s dish and definitely liked the roast the most. But the spuds were no duds, and the horseradish gave me a balanced bit of its characteristic burn. Finally, the appetizer—You’ll instantly forget any mushy childhood memories of Brussels Sprouts when you bite into one of these babies. Crispy but not burnt, dressed in gooey cheese... if counting calories, you’ll wanna Gruy-err on the side of caution and not get these too often This place was marvelous! First time at the Birdhouse and no regrets. We were on our way to Marty's to grab a breakfast sandwich but decided to stop at the Birdhouse instead and really enjoyed it. My wife had the Croissant Sammy with bacon, I had the breakfast quesadilla with the chicken tinga (no nacho cheese, that didn't sound appealing) and we had to try the chocolate chip banana bread pancakes, just sounded too yummy to pass up and we were right. The croissant sandwich was soft and flavorful, the red pepper cream cheese really worked well with the bread, the egg, the bacon and the onions. It is served with a side of greens. My quesadilla was excellent and the "comeback sauce" was the perfect compliment to it. Last but not least were the yummy pancakes, flavorful, perfect consistency and the nuts and bananas rounded up the yummyness. Service was prompt and very friendly. I loved the fact that it was not overrun like all the other good places these days. Definitely worth coming back for the other great sounding menu items.

I can’t believe it took me this long to check this place out! The vibe was cool and chill! The beverage menu was comprehensive and had something for everyone. I’ll be back for the sweet happy hour specials for sure. Variety of options on the food menu too! My husband had the chicken and waffles which had crispy breading and juicy chicken! Some hot sauce or chili crunch on the side would have made this dynamite! I had the smash burger, also good, bun was perfect! Can’t wait to try more! Oh and the patio was a nice place for our impromptu dinner date!

Never a disappointment! And the poutine is back!!!! Cara was an attentive server and took great care of us! Chose a r comfy seat by the window again and though it was a bit chilly outside, the atmosphere, food and service made it warm and inviting.

I love The Birdhouse! Great food, great cocktails, great service! They often have unique specials that are definitely worth a visit. The cocktails are great & they seem to keep switching them up to new recipes as well. As initially stated, love this locally owned & operated restaurant!!

Great cocktails (and I’m picky). Likely the only fried green tomatoes I’ll eat in Minnesota (they were delicious!). Service was fast and friendly. Price points totally reasonable for the quality of food & drinks. Will return!
